PLAY, EAT, DRINK & DRESS LIKE A PIRATE – Pirates be a ‘Comin to Currituck! Join us at The Weeping Radish Brewery, Butchery and Pub for a day filled with swashbuckling fun! This day will celebrate Currituck’s 350thAnniversary and commemorate this coastal town as one of the original five ports of North Carolina. And one must not forget the legacy of ole’ Blackbeard as 2018 brings the 300th Anniversary of his demise. He’ll make his appearance on The Mainland with the rest of the pirate crew of The Loose Cannon Company and some other surprising characters of Currituck’s past. The day will feature a pirate encampment, artisan marketplace, pirate bounce house, pirate magician, sea chantey concert, scavenger hunt, pirate school for children, Children & Family Costume Contest, Tom Benn & Blackbeard Marionette Show and a Pirate Escape Room by Will You Escape the OBX
Black Pelican Catering will be on-site serving up seafood boils by the bucket. Aye there will be fresh shrimp, mussels, clams corn and potatoes! Don’t quite have the appetite of a sea-faring pirate? Try one of the famous German Brats, homemade at The Weeping Radish Brewery, Butchery and Pub, featured on The Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” with Guy Fieri. Seasonal draft favorites, a special pirate brew and wine from Sanctuary Vineyards will be for sale for adults, 21 years old and older. Must show valid driver’s license with proof of age. Water and other non-alcoholic beverages will be on sale for purchase.

Rules: Put together a creative, nautical, pirate themed costume and wear it on your body. All costumes are welcome; it doesn’t make a difference if they are homemade, magically found, purchased or rented. However, please keep your costume “G” rated for this family. Registration is free. You may register online or see the Information booth the day of the event to register between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM. Judging begins at 1:30 PM on the Main Stage. 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place awarded in each division.

Every hour on the hour 10 AM – 8 PM.(10 AM, 11 AM…8PM)
Up to classes of 20 kids. Children will learn from a real pirate. Learn how to talk like a pirate as Captain Mad Dog Mike teached you to wield a sword and hoist anchor. Children will be provide with a sword to take home with them. 10:30 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM

Don’t miss out on Captain Jim’s Magical Illusions & Trickery over dinner after the event at the Weeping Radish from 6:00 – 6:15 PM and live music on the outdoor deck from 7:00 -9:00 PM and The Pirate Escape Room.
Brewery tours will be offered at 12:00pm, 3:00pm and 6:00pm for $15/person and includes beer and sausage samples.
