Bells Island Campground has just celebrated its 50th anniversary! This conveniently located and family-friendly campground has been a great place to stay since 1963. It’s right on the Currituck Sound, so all water-related activities are on the menu: swimming, boating, jet skis, fishing, and crabbing are all popular choices, and use of the boat ramp is included with your stay.

It’s also a great place to relax as a family and watch the sun setting over the sound while grilling dinner or making s’mores over the campfire. There are RV hookups and campsites for tents, and restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers are on-site in case you aren’t in the mood for primitive camping. You can even bring the four-legged members of your family with you.

And just because you’re camping doesn’t mean you’re cut off or isolated from all of the fun Outer Banks attractions. The free ferry to Knotts Island with its orchards, vineyards, and small town charm is only five minutes away. Digger’s Dungeon, home of the Grave Digger monster truck, is a short drive away, as are restaurants, shops, breweries, and vineyards. A longer drive will take you on an exciting day trip to Corolla Heritage Park,Historic Corolla Village, Whalehead Club, Currituck Beach Lighthouse, the Outer Banks Wildlife Education Center, and the Corolla beaches and wild horse tours.

Camping can give your family the gift of unforgettable memories. With the other amazing attractions surrounding the area, Bells Island Campground provides the best of a family beach vacation with the adventure of a camping trip.
