Duck Donuts Ribbon Cutting!

April 10, 2013
Duck Donuts is a locally owned and operated donut franchise in the Outer Banks, and you can taste the care and effort that go into making each individual donut. They bill themselves as a delicious Outer Banks vacation treat, and their description is accurate. All of their donuts are made to order, and when you hold that warm, freshly made donut in your hands, any loyalties to a national chain disappear.

The Corolla location recently held a ribbon-cutting to celebrate their new membership with the Currituck Chamber of Commerce. Joined by chamber members, Duck Donuts founders, franchise owners, and other guests, the ribbon was cut and fresh donuts were shared. The maple donut topped with bacon was a popular choice, as were more classic options like chocolate iced and cinnamon sugar.

Surveying the spotlessly clean location, it’s clear that the same care taken with their donuts translates into running their business. The donut-making station is meticulously maintained, and numerous pictures taken of children who have come to the location wearing pajamas cover bulletin boards of their “Jammie Club.” The manager and employees are friendly and full of information about the donut-making process and the business.

If you’re a fan of donuts, of sweets, of breakfast, or of anything delicious, check out Duck Donuts. Their Corolla location is conveniently located only a few minutes away from the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, Historic Corolla Village, and the Whalehead Club, so grab a friend and a half dozen donuts and have a picnic while enjoying your delicious Outer Banks vacation treat.
