Currituck OBX Spotlight: Route 12 Steak and Seafood

August 13, 2012
You want a juicy steak and they want succulent seafood. The kids wants chicken fingers or pizza as usual. What do you do when the family is divided on dinner? You try a great place in Corolla that caters to all tastes and appetites, and the address is easy to remember!

Route 12 Steak and Seafood may look laid back like your typical beach eatery, but make no mistake – they are serious about serving great food. Here you’ll find one of the most diverse menus in the Outer Banks – a selection of great appetizers like Carolina-style crab bisque, sashimi grade tuna with a kick, and crisp calamari. Lighter appetites have a choice of fresh salads and sandwiches (everything from burgers to crab cakes and BBQ), while main entrees include comfort dishes like Pork Carolina, a full rack of BBQ ribs, and even Peking duck. Of course, there’s steak – with or without the “surf.”

If you’re looking for an evening snack, try the raw bar offerings of raw or steamed oysters, Middleneck clams, shrimp, and Alaskan crab legs. For the kids, there’s cheese pizza, chicken fingers, and small-sized entrees. Everybody wins, and nobody leaves hungry!
