The Currituck Outer Banks is the ideal vacation destination to make lasting memories with your children. Check out these activities that kids are sure to enjoy!

Wild Horse Museum:
Located in the heart of the Historic Village the Corolla School House and Corolla Wild Horse Museum offer fun educational activities for children in the summer. There is no admission fee for the museum and nominal fees for children's programs. Call for information: 252-453-8002.

Seal Program in CorollaSEAL for Kids Program:
The SEAL (Safety Education and Aquatic Learning) Program is designed for children ages 7-14. Instructors from Corolla Ocean Rescue teach children about the ocean, first aid, and physical fitness. Adults are invited to attend a free, two-hour parent/guardian seminar offered at the same time. Call for reservations: 252-453-3919.

Paddle Boats: Children will love close-up looks at turtles, fish, and wildlife from atop a paddle boat on the Currituck Sound. Contact Kitty Hawk Water Sports in TimBuck II: 252-453-6900.

Go-Karts: Race Go-Karts around a large track or play in bumper cars at Corolla Raceway in TimBuck II shopping center. Call 252-453-9100 for details.

Skate Park: The 5000 sq. ft. outdoor skateboarding park at the Corolla Light Town Center features dual bowls, quarter pipes, grind pipes, and jumps. Skate clinics and rental equipment are available. Call 252-453-9484 for information.

Treasure Hunt: Children ages 6-9 will enjoy hunting for treasure at the Whalehead Club while learning about geography and navigation. Each child receives a prize! Call 252-453-9040 for more information.

Ghost Tours: Listen to spooky tales about pirates and shipwrecks during afternoon and evening ghost tours at the Whalehead Club. These tours are so popular that reservations are recommended. Call 252-453-9040 for details.

Tennis:  The Corolla Light Pro Shop, Kilmarlic Health & Racquet Club and Pine Island Racquet & Fitness Center offer tennis lessons and clinics for kids of all ages. 

Mini-Golf: Bring the entire family and enjoy a round of miniature golf. Try to get a ‘hole in one’ at Corolla Grass Course, 252-453-4198, and Golf Links, 252-453-6900.

KitesCurrituck Outer Banks Kids: Children and adults will enjoy flying their own colorful kite high above the beach. Visit Flying Smiles Kites at Corolla Light Center, 252-453-8442, and Kitty Hawk Kites at TimBuck II, 252-453-8845.

Wall Climbing: Gear up and go climbing on the 26 foot outdoor climbing wall located at Kitty Hawk Kites in TimBuck II: 252-453-8845.

Wildlife Programs: The Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education in Heritage Park offers free programs for children of all ages. Programs include eco-kayaking, surf fishing, nature photography, and more. Call 252-453-0221 for information and to make reservations.

Playgrounds: Children’s playgrounds can be found at the TimBuck II Shopping Center and at the southern entrance to the Corolla Light Town Center.
