Currituck Pirate Plunder Festival

When:  July 29th  —  10am to 5pm

Where:  Weeping Radish Brewery; 6810 Caratoke Hwy, Jarvisburg, NC 27947

“Ahoy mates! Pirates are a ‘Comin to Currituck! Join us at The Weeping Radish Brewery, Butchery and Pub for a day filled with swashbuckling fun! This day will celebrate Currituck’s 350th Anniversary and commemorate this coastal town as one of the original five ports of North Carolina, and one must not forget the legacy of Blackbeard as 2018 brings the 300th Anniversary of his demise. He’ll make his appearance on The Mainland with the rest of the pirate crew of The Loose Cannon Company and some other surprising characters of Currituck’s past.

Meet Blackbeard and enjoy the day’s family friendly festivities including a Living History Pirate Encampment, canon salutes, black powder and sword demonstrations, children’s pirate costume contest and more! Learn what it was like to be the Ship’s Carpenter, Navigator and Common Seaman & even learn to talk like a pirate at Pirate School.

Witness the Magical Illusions of Captain Jim, the juggling pirate on stilts and dance to sea chanteys of old from The Motley Tones.

Stay connected with us for a complete schedule of events including the MAIN EVENT. Who will win this great battle…the pirates of The Loose Cannon Company or the militia soldiers?

Black Pelican Catering will be on-site serving up seafood boils by the bucket. Aye there will be fresh shrimp, corn and potatoes!

Don’t quite have the appetite of a sea-faring pirate? Try one of the famous German Brats, homemade at The Weeping Radish Brewery, Butchery and Pub.

Featured on The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri, The Weeping Radish Brewery became NC’s first micro-brewery in 1986. Seasonal draft favorites and a special pirate brew will be for sale for adults, 21 years old and older. Must show valid driver’s license with proof of age.

Water and other non-alcoholic beverages will be on sale for purchase.”
