Currituck County Government

Currituck County is leading the way in North Carolina for low taxes, superior schools and a high quality of life. Historically a rural community, the Currituck Outer Banks have seen rapid growth over the past decades and has embraced a diverse business and residential population.

The County is managed by a five-member Board of Commissioners, representing the County’s four districts with one commissioner at-large. Government departments are overseen by various Department Heads and report to a central County Manager.

From Planning & Inspections to the Water Department, excellence in service is the County’s aim and goal.
