Tourism Advisory Board Meeting

The Next Tourism Advisior Board meeting will be held: Monday, May 12, 2008, 5:00 p.m.  at the Historic Currituck County Courthouse, Currituck, North Carolina.

This board consults with and advises the Tourism Development Authority, the County Manager, and the Department of Travel and Tourism in the matters affecting tourism: (a) the creation of a yearly County marketing plan; (b) the allocation of County occupancy tax; (c) the acceptance of any grant, gift, bequest or donation; (d) construction, equipping, operation, and maintenance of visitor centers; (e) advise in regard to other tourism facilities, recommend of tourism events.  For more information please go to http://www.co.currituck.nc.us


Spring Into Tourism Meeting

The Currituck County Travel and Tourism Department invites tourism-related business representatives throughout Currituck County to attend the annual Spring Into Tourism workshops on April 22 and 23, 2008.

These informative and interactive meetings will allow county businesses to learn more of the department’s advertising and marketing efforts, as well as other efforts to promote tourism into Currituck County. Department staff will also welcome feedback from tourism business officials on these promotional strategies and incorporate this feedback into plans for future efforts.

Two Spring Into Tourism sessions will be held. On April 22, the Travel and Tourism Department will host a meeting at the Historic Courthouse, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The second meeting, on April 23, will be held in Corolla at the Hampton Inn, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Refreshments will be provided at each meeting.
